THE TOUR
At the scheduled time we headed along the Panamericana Sur towards Chucuito, 18 km from the city of Puno. Chucuito was the capital of the Lupacas, the most fierce pre-Inca culture that resisted the Inca conquest. Today it is an honor to be a descendant of the Lupacas because of the strength and courage that their legacy transmits. During the time of the Spanish colony, it was the headquarters of the Royal Funds where the King's fifth, tax on mining production, was collected. The vestiges of this historic place still remain in its buildings, such as the Renaissance churches of Santo Domingo and La Asunción, as well as in the remains of the archaeological temple known in the area as “The Temple of Fertility.”
Opportunity to visit the most sustainable trout farm in the area, since it is from here that the trout fry from almost all the Titicaca farms are supplied for production in the national and international market.
